Emmanuel Turyamuhaki

COB –  UK – Chairman, Vice President (ICOB)

Omuhesi wa Bukora omukwata nyundo, Turyamuhaki ka Tatwangire wa Kabunga, Kabunga ka Bitembero, Bitembero wa Muhima, Muhima wa Kazoora, Kazoora mwene Kahesi, Kahesi wa Mutambuka.

 

A resident of Kent United Kingdom, a Munyakigezi by birth, interested in promoting the well-being of Kigezi and Uganda. An Economist by training, entrepreneur and social philanthropist. Working towards establishing a Uganda/Africa that will be self-sustaining, promoting SMEs at the grass-root levels as a key to unlocking Africa’s prosperity.

A professional Information Technology Engineer practicing in the United Kingdom, having worked previously in Ugandas’ financial sector as well. Current Chair of the Community of the Banyakigezi UK Chapter and a current Board member on the ICOB Apex. 

Turyamuhaki is a founder member of Kutokea Africa Initiative (KAI) and Director of the Kigezi Sports Club, two organisations that were formed to promote and enhance the wellbeing of the youth and communities in Rukiga, Kigezi and surrounding areas.  KAI is community-based organization that aims at creating a self-sustaining and economically empowered environment.

Born and bread from Rwakaraba, Kabale Municipality. Francis is a businessman, entrepreneur and currently resides in the City of Manchester.

An Accountant by profession working with Islington London, Gidoen is a Musigyi from Mparo and has been a member of COB -UK since 2005 having served previously in various capacities as Secretary and Youth Mobiliser.

Macklin Twimukye

Secretary for Scotland, Deputy Secretary

Member of the ExCo COB UK.  Macklin is a Munyakigezi from Kambuga (famously from Enengo) Kanungu District. She currently works with Shelter Scotland as the Lived Experience Lead.  Previously, she worked with the Poverty Alliance as a Senior Communities Officer responsible for lived experience engagement and network building. In Uganda, she was the Executive Director of the National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda and an advisor on disability and development in East and Southern Africa. Macklin is passionate about community.

 

Carol Bazirake

Secretary for the Youth

A Financial consultant by training and professional in London. Originally from Rubanda District, Ahamurwa.

Naome Kyokushaba

Treasurer

Originally from Bushenyi but currently live in London, UK (a true friend to the Banyakigezi).

 

I hold a post graduate degree in Early Years Education and currently works as a manager in a Children’s Centre in London Borough of Camden.
