This is the first in over 16 years that our community has been unable to meet in person. As you are all aware, we have always had an opportunity to congregate in one of the major cities – break bread and network during our annual conventions.
2020 was not supposed to be any different. The Banyakigezi in Boston MA were preparing to host us, in fact preparations were in very high gear- but COVID-19 happened and all the plans had to be shelved for a while. However, as time went on, we realized that as ICOB we still have a mandate to fulfill. ICOB was founded on the idea of the importance of togetherness and our culture.
It is not in doubt that COVID and its aftermath is going to be with us for a while. So while we can not meet physically, we have tools that we can utilize to ensure that we keep in touch.
